The Executive Director of Personnel for the Eau Claire School District says he's stepping down.
Jim Kling announced at last night's school board meeting that he'll be resigning and retiring. CLICK HERE to read James Kling’s full resignation letter.
He says it's a good time for him to leave so that the new superintendent and the school board can review his position, make necessary changes, and hire a replacement.
Kling says the superintendent and the board are looking to go in a different direction.
But he says he's leaving on his own terms.
The Personnel Director for a local school district has announced his resignation.
Superintendent Ron Heilmann says Kling told him he's been doing this for a number of years and felt it was time to step down.
But Heilmann also says the ongoing investigation into former superintendent Bill Klaus' contract did have an impact on Kling's decision to step down.
Reporter Heidi Bohl says, "Was this related to the Bill Klaus controversy?"
Ron Heilmann says, "To say it's absolutely not related would probably not be totally truthful."
Kling's last day will be August 15th.
Heilmann says the district will take its time in hiring a replacement.
