Construction crews in Minneapolis finished filling in the final gap on the new Interstate-35 bridge Thursday night.

The new bridge replaces the one that collapsed in August of last year; 13-people died.

The completion comes almost a year to the day after the original bridge collapsed.

The new bridge is expected to be open to traffic sometime later this year.
