Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress says any conversations he had with Brett Favre this summer were purely innocent.
Favre told SI.com that he spoke with Childress but says the Vikings coach didn't try to entice him to return and play in Minnesota.
Childress says he has known Favre since his days as an assistant at the University of Wisconsin. The coach would often visit the Packers and sit in on quarterback meetings and the two became friendly.
The former Eagles coach says talking to Favre is "no different than me talking to Donovan McNabb as he's going to training camp or talking to Brian Westbrook."
The Packers have filed tampering charges against the Vikings, alleging that the club had inappropriate contact with Favre this summer.
