You will never keep weapons away from criminals. You will only take guns from the inocent

Oh, my lord. "It's not the gun, it's the individual"? Please, it's the individual WITH the gun. It is definately time (long past...how many more?) for gun control!

"Gun Control"? or in other words just take EVERYONE'S gun/weapon from them? That will solve NOTHING. Besides that will never happen. There are to many poeple out there that hunt. There is NO good way to stop things like this from happening. Yeah it is a tragedy, but the thing is there is NO WAY TO STOP IT!

What good are more laws on guns going to do when most criminals do not go through "legal" means to get them? More laws about gun ownership will not change the criminals access to a weapon to comit their crimes. The only thing more laws will do is keep firearms from regular law abiding citizens, and take their ability to protect themselves, their family and homes/property. What about hunters? A person could kill just as easily with a hunting rifle/shotgun as they could with an "assault rifle". If you're going to call for "gun control" to save lives, you will also need to look at controling automobiles, snowmobiles, atv's, motorcycles, knives, hammers, baseball bats, power tools, chainsaws, rope, the list could go on and on!

Hmmm. A person can't kill wothout a weapon? Brilliant....I see a lot of thought was put into that comment.

A knife could kill more than 3 people just as easy a a rifle. Lets ban the knives also
Posted by: Cory Location: EC on Aug 1, 2008 at 06:19 PM

Geee, with that type of thinking, lets ban cars/trucks, baseball bats, axes/hatchets, knives, the list cold go on and on. People need to realize that banning guns won't make anyone safer, because the majority of people using the guns for crime don't get them legally to begin with. You could kill just as easily with a hunting rifle as you could with an assault rifle, sawed off shotgun, pistol with high capacity magazine, or anything else on the "banned list". Lets start enforcing the laws ALREADY enacted before we start making new ones, OK?

I believe every individual that wants to purchase weapons should have to go through a phsychactric evaluation and weapons safety course. This man should be punished to the full extent of the law. My prayers are with the victims families.

I may be wrong but I am betting that this psyco had previous priors. Even if he didn't he had better be locked up, for life, no leniency whatsoever! My heart goes out to those innocent victims and their families. This world is going crazy.

YES it is time for gun control. A person can't kill without a gun/weapon. I understand the "it's the individual" argument, but we will never be able to ensure what people will or won't do with a weapon. Gun control saves lives!!!

It is very sad that someone with metal health issues has access to that type of weapons and would turn it on the inocent of the world. My sympathathy go out to the familys.

My sympathathy goes out to all the families of the victims, but as far as gun control it's not the gun that did this. It was the individual behind the gun. I hope that this man is locked behind bars for the rest of his life.
