If you're headed out for the weekend and you're taking I-94 east or west of Menomonie, you could be a little late.
The problem is construction crews are busy trying to replace the west bound lanes of I-94 near Highway 25.
That means the interstate is down to one lane in either direction from 2-miles east of highway 25, to one mile west of highway 25.
State Patrol Troopers we talked to Friday afternoon say there's nothing much that can be done except have a little patience, or try and find an alternate way around this area.
Sergeant Steve Tape told us you need to be watching out for the other guy, and remembering the basics of safe driving this weekend.
"Don't be the distracted driver that's trying to take care of the kids in the back seat while operating a motor vehicle. Don't get yourself so wrapped up in a meal or a cup of coffee that you don't pay attention to what you're doing", he said.
Sergeant tape says you won't have much luck trying to get around the back-up on I-94 by going through the city of Menomonie.
Many people have had the same thought, creating an increase in traffic there as well.
