Wisconsin Vietnam Vets Who Died From Non-Combat Injuries To Be Honored

Four Wisconsin men who died from non-combat injuries during the Vietnam War will be honored in Washington D-C.

The men are Nels Connor Anderson of Milwaukee, William Allen Bartow of Lancaster, Wayne James Frank of Port Washington and James Merritt Reader of Wisconsin Rapids.

They're among the 86 veterans who will be recognized during the In Memory Day ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The ceremony was Monday.

The annual ceremony pays tribute to those who died prematurely from non-combat injuries and emotional suffering caused directly by the Vietnam War. The soldiers usually don't meet Department of Defense guidelines for having their names inscribed on The Wall.

Many of their deaths are due to Agent Orange exposure or as the result of post traumatic stress disorder.
