"The Open Door Clinic" is officially taking patients on a first come, first serve basis on Tuesdays from four to eight in the evening. The United Way Partner is housed in the First Presbyterian Church downtown, and will offer medical services to those without a health care alternative.
“About 10 percent of our population or about, little over 5,000 of our Chippewa County residents are without health care," says Roberta Rasmus, the clinic board Vice President. "This is an area of need that hasn't been met and we're going to be able to provide that service now."
About 80 doctors, nurses and social workers have donated time and area hospitals and clinics have donated equipment and lab services.
