EAU CLAIRE, Wis -- A few clouds and a very slight chance of some isolated showers for some areas in western Wisconsin this morning. At most just a sprinkle or two can be expected. Our better chance at a few isolated showers and storms this afternoon and evening, out ahead of a front across the Plains. For the most part today will be dry. The big question mark for today is cloud cover. If it turns out sunnier than forecast, we can expect warmer temperatures. Afternoon highs in the low to mid 80s. Also winds will be breezy again, from the south and southwest 8 to 15 miles per hour.
Temperatures are likely to be higher Sunday, and it will be very summer-like with the return of higher humidity. The front will be sliding into the region later in the afternoon and evening with some showers and storms likely. These may also pose a severe threat, so pay attention to the forecast through the day for any possible watch issuance. Any storms could also produce some heavier rainfall. Once the front passes, cooler and drier air will return heading into early Monday.
Temperatures through the first part of next week will fall back to near or slightly below average levels, with another chance at a few showers and storms Tuesday and possibly into Wednesday. Good news conditions look to be warm and dry for the end of the work week as we head into next weekend.
Enjoy this long holiday weekend everyone!
