Partly sunny , then chance of storms

EAU CLAIRE (Wis) -- (WEAU) The weekend is here, and for the most part, you can expect it to be dry.. unfortunately Mother Nature is putting a crimp in our original idea of a totally rain-free two days.. A weak cold front over Eastern Minnesota this morning will continue moving east, into Northwest Wisconsin this afternoon.

Most of the energy with the front will still be diverted to the north, but the tail end of the front should provide just enough lift to act on building afternoon instability to pop a few storms in the later afternoon and evening hours. This will be most likely from Eau Claire and points north and west.

Much of today will be rain-free, but if you do have outdoor plans say after 4pm, just keep an eye to the sky and check out our interactive radar here on for any possible development. Outside of this small rain chance, it will be warm and a bit more humid.

Tomorrow will certainly feel like summer with temperatures climbing further into the 80's and with higher dew points it will feel sticky. The weather will be dry, and it will stay that way through Monday, when this current warm up will peak. The hottest feel we've had so far this summer will likely come Monday, with forecast high temperatures around 90 and dew points perhaps around 70.. this will mean higher heat indexes.. words we really haven't even thrown around at all so far this summer.

A cold front will bring an end to the heat however, and should come through sometime on Tuesday. This will likely bring some showers and storms to the area, before cooling down some into the middle of the week.

Have a great weekend!
