Sunny Saturday expected in the Chippewa Valley

(WEAU) -- Some lingering clouds early this morning, but sunshine will break through, bringing a mostly sunny and warmer afternoon to the area, and a nice start to the weekend.

It will be a nice day to be near the water, be it the lake or pool with temperatures climbing into the 80's along with a good amount of humidity. As we head into this evening, a weak front to the northwest will slide in, resulting in a few scattered showers and thunderstorms after 6pm, though about midnight. Behind this, winds will shift to the north and trigger the next cool down going into Sunday, through early next week.

Sunday will be much different with a mostly cloudy sky and breezy winds. As a secondary front slides in from the north, more showers are likely into the afternoon, so if you have outdoor plans, expect at least to be dealing with some raindrops.

Another round of dry weather returns through the first half of next week with high pressure returning from the west, but it will stay cool for late July, with a large upper trough centered to our east over the Great Lakes. Highs will be kept in the 70's.. something we've seen many times this month. A slow warm up should get us back to around 80 by the end of next week.

Have a great weekend!
