Man Charged With Shoving Plate Down Wife's Throat Not Mentally Fit to Stand Trial

A 38-year-old Spencer man accused of murdering his wife by shoving a decorative Easter plate down her throat will be sent to a mental health institution for treatment before he can face trial.
In Marathon County Circuit Court, a psychologist testified that Patrick Zurkowski is not competent to stand trial.
Zurkowski's case will be reviewed again in three months to determine if the case can proceed.
He's charged with killing his 40- year-old wife, June last month.
