(WEAU) The weekend is here, and it will bring a little bit of everything. from typical summer warmth and humidity, with spotty rainfall.. followed by cooler and more comfortable conditions.. Unfortunately for those places that have been mostly dry in recent weeks, this will bring little, if any relief.
This morning may get off to a cloudy start in places, otherwise a mix of sun and clouds is expected through the day. We will be watching the arrival of a weak cold front to the north later in the afternoon. This system will touch off scattered showers and storms near the front and the timing looks to favor the 2pm to 6pm range. Despite the chance of a few showers and storms in the area, many places will likely stay dry. Highs will be in the 80's with moderate humidity, but that will gradually get pushed out by a shot of cooler and drier air from the north.
High pressure bypassing us to the north on Sunday will bring the return of some sunshine and cooler temperatures. It will be more pleasant with dew points falling back in the comfortable range, making for a great finish to the weekend. Next week there will be additional rain chances, the first coming late Monday into Tuesday. A low pressure system and front are forecast to slide through from the west, dropping temperatures a bit and giving us a better chance of more concentrated rain. Later in the week the jet stream will lift a bit further north, allowing for a warm up back into the mid 80's by Thursday.
