Swiggum Announces Candidacy

The Mayor of Owen says a crisis situation in regard to health care is his main focus as he tries to win a seat in the state Assembly.
Democrat Tim Swiggum announced this week he’ll be running in the 69th District. He says the current Republican-dominated legislature has their priorities mixed up, and he’s the guy to get the assembly back on track.
“I believe we need to focus more on the families and the quality of life issues that aren’t being addressed in the legislature at this time,” Swiggum said.
Republican incumbent Scott Suder says he’s yet to file for re-election and that he has not decided whether to run again. He plans to make a decision within the month.
