The DNR wants to remind people that while these animals are fun to look at, they are still wild, so you need to be careful around them.

Wildlife Technician Brian Markowski says it's not uncommon to see black bears wandering through towns anymore.

He says there's been an increase in them the past two years around the area.

Markowski says if a bear is in a tree, the best thing you can do is leave them alone.

Brian Markowski says, "The bear is just scared. He wants to get down and move off and the best thing would be to leave it alone and allow that bear to do that."

Markowski says make sure you never feed bears.

He says it'll keep them coming back and they could become nuisances.
