On an invite-only basis, the Presidential Candidate spoke to a few hundred people in Eau Claire Sunday about how the changes he will make in the White House, if he's elected, will affect people in Western Wisconsin.
The majority of Obama’s speech focused on his economic plan, making promises to reduce taxes and create more jobs.
"That's what built America, that middle class. This election is about you,” he says.
Senator Barack Obama says he understands Wisconsin’s working, middle class, especially with an unstable economy.
"It becomes hard to cut back when you're already short when it comes to paying for home heating oil in the middle of winter. If you're on fixed incomes, if you're trying to go to school, it's hard,” he says.
Obama also speaks to local college students and the parents who are trying to help pay their student's way by proposing a solution for high tuition costs.
"In exchange for community service, we will pay your tuition. No one will be locked out of the American Dream,” he says.
And Obama says, if elected, he will make changes possible. But he says if he's not elected, he's afraid none of these problems will be resolved.
"I don't accept that future for my children and I don't accept it for yours. I don't accept it for America. That's why I decided to run for President of the United States of America. That's why I decided to win this election,” he says.
Sunday Obama also says, under his economic plan, 95% of Americans will receive a tax cut.
And he stresses how he will help you get affordable health care, and if you can't, he says he'll find a way to subsidize it.
