Young Girl Pinned Under Water In Car Near Kenosha
Submerged For Five To Ten Minutes; Hospitalized
|

A 5-year-old girl submerged in a crashed car is being treated for brain and lung injuries.
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department says the child is "more stable" but still on a respirator and sedated. The department says hospital staff will have a better idea of her condition Monday evening.
The child, her mother, 26-year-old Nicole Scheroder of Trevor, and her mother's fiance, 29-year-old Ronald Reilly of Trevor, were in the car Friday when it swerved to avoid an object on County Highway C, rolled and landed in Camp Lake. Scheroder and Reilly escaped the car.
But Scheroder's daughter spent five to 10 minutes under water before Reilly and others freed her. The sheriff's department did not name the child.
