Investigators in Trempealeau County say they found a burned out vehicle with a human remains inside.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department says at about 10 a.m. Thursday morning someone saw a burned out vehicle parked just off a town road south of Osseo in the town of Hale. The caller said they saw human remains inside.
Deputies on scene confirmed there were human remains inside. Investigators have not identified the remains because of the fire. They sent them to a forensic pathologist for help identifying them and finding the cause of death.
Deputies say they did get a call about a missing person Thursday night, and deputies say the description of that person's vehicle is consistent with the one they found burned up.
