The feds gave Gays Mills more than $435,000 to raise buildings.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says the grant will protect 18 buildings from a 100 year flood event.

FEMA says the move will also protect the health and well-being of people living in Crawford County and reduce insurance claims and government spending after a disaster.
