Sheriff's officials say the driver of the car lost control while it was snowing and slid into the path of the semi on Highway 51 west of Rhinelander in the Town of Cassian Tuesday afternoon.

The two occupants of the car and the only occupant of the semi were pronounced dead at the scene. Twenty-two-year-old Justine Ringberg, of Bayfield, and 22-year-old Raquel Nunez of New York, N.Y. were in the car. The driver of the tanker was 22-year-old Jeremy Ritchie of Minocqua.
