An Eau Claire man died in a car crash because the other driver doesn't stop at a stop sign.

The Barron County Sheriff's Department says at 12:30 a.m. Sunday 24-year-old James Dewitt was driving east on Highway 8 when the crash happened.

Deputies say 30-year-old Fredrick Johnson from Minnesota was heading south on Highway "O" when he didn't stop at stop sign at the intersection.

They say both men were the only people in each car. Dewitt was pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson was treated for his injuries and released.

James- I can't believe that you are gone...each day that passes seems so surreal. The night I got that phone call was the worst night of my life! I never thought that it would happen to me...never thought that I would get that call saying my loved one has been killed in a car wreck. :( You were such a great guy and you are loved by so many! Know that you touched many lives and hearts....with that you will rest in peace. I will see you again someday! I love you so very much and save a seat for me!! Love you sister- Manners

I don't personally know either, God be with both families to help them through this ordeal.

I don't see in the article that alcohol had a part in the accident. This could happen to anyone. Your thinking about other things and wham, never seen it. Could be so many possibilities. To say to charge a person with murder without any evidence is cruel! If the man was drinking, then charge with murder.

Now to see if they charge the other guy with Murder, 1st Degree. That is what it is, plain and simple. Of course I know the other guy did not intend to murder him, but it is still murder, regardless.
