Deputies had to use the jaws of life to get two people out of a vehicle involved in a head on crash.

The La Crosse County Sheriff's Department says at about 12:30 Saturday night, two vehicles, one traveling east bound on Highway 33 in La Crosse, the other traveling west bound, crashed when the driver of the west bound vehicle tried to pass a car in a no passing zone.

Both drivers and one passenger were taken to local hospitals, no word on the extent of their injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
