The City of Chippewa Falls made a decision on a smoking ban proposal there.
The mayor tells WEAU-13 that council members voted 5 to 2 in favor of waiting for the state to ban smoking, and not creating a local ordinance.
Mayor Greg Hoffman says he thinks the state of the economy was behind the decision.
