7-year-old Boy Dies After Getting Hit By A Truck
Investigators believe Cody Ward jumped out into traffic and was hit by a pick-up truck

The 7-year-old boy who was hit by a pick-up truck on Friday, October 3, has died at the Gillette Children's Hospital.

The accident happened in Balsam Lake. Deputies say Cody A. Ward of rural Saint Croix Falls jumped out into traffic while trying to cross State Highway 46 around 4 p.m. That's when the truck driven by 18-year-old Cody Turnquist of rural Centuria hit him. The accident happened in the village of Balsam Lake. Ward was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., before being transferred to Gillette Children’s Hospital. Ward died on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
