Democrats hope that organizational edge will lead the Illinois Senator to victory in November.
The Obama campaign has organized more than 420 teams of volunteers and opened more than 50 offices.
Some are in heavily republican areas.
McCain’s campaign says it's taking a more traditional approach, organizing volunteers out of 18 "victory" offices across the state.
Those offices are working to get McCain and other republicans elected in November.
