People are unnecessarily harsh when it comes to this news. Speaking as someone who actually works for Linens N' Things, all I can do is continue to go to work day to day, knowing I will go to be shouted at, screamed at, degraded, laughed at, to have things thrown at me over circumstances I cannot control, only to make the same minimum wage amount I've always made, knowing that I will lose my job no matter how hard I work. Please, if you enjoyed the store, I'm asking on behalf of everyone who still works there, who will be run through hell only to lose their jobs by Christmas...please, go easy on the staff. It's hard work, and we're all still trying to hold on.

Linen and things was a GREAT store!!!! To say that you can buy the same thing at Walmart is definitely an insult. Walmart can NEVER compare. The one store that compared to LNT was BED,BATH and BEYOND, but if you shop at walmart than you wouldn't know that. LNT even took BED,BATH abd BEYOND coupons. So, buy using LNT and Bed, Bath and Beyond coupons at the same time I've saved tons of money and got far better quality than Walmart could ever offer. I truly feel sorry for all the employees that will be without a job. This is definitely a VERY trying time that we are living in.

I feel sorry for the people that will be out of a job right before the holidays. I have to admit the prices were never comparable to Kohls, Younkers, or Macys. Even now, with the "closeout" prices this weekend, people were flocking to the store and if they payed attention they would notice the EXACT same products were on sale at other stores for a better price AND you would have the option to still be able to return them if needed. The people in the store this weekend were spending $200-$300 because of the assumed "deal." For our budget crisis, I think we should pay more attention. ALSO, the store isn't even owned by Linens 'N Things anymore, a liquidation company purchased them this week and they chose to close the stores. Therefore, any money that is spent at the store will go directly to the liquidation company. Spending your money at the store will not help the former company, nor save the associates jobs. Shop local while you still can.

Right, you get what you pay for. Linens 'n' Things had coupons for 10% or more off pretty much all the time, which made the prices for comparable goods the exact same as Wal-Mart. Oh well, I guess I'll be shopping at ShopKo now.

I think the store was a great place they had things that you can't buy at walmart. The people were very helpfull that worked there also. I will miss the store myself and feel sorry for the people losing jobs.

Typical Eau Claire comment. Why buy quality, when we can go to the trash store of america and buy it for cheaper. Never mind the fact that you have to buy it three times to another stores 1, because it is junk and keeps breaking.

This is not good to have more people out of work. When people are out of work and hungry the crime rate goes up.

Funny comment. You say that you could get things at Wal-Mart that LOOKS the same. BUt if you looked closer the stuff at wal-mart is actually lower quality. A blender at wal-mart will have a plastic base. The one at LNT is a metal base. And if you used your coupon you would actually get a better deal at LNT. Not that it matters now.

it's no surprise that they are closing, that store wasn't that great and their prices were insane. I went in there one time and never bought a thing and never planned on going back, why pay so much more for something you can get at Wal-Mart that look the same??
