Run-Walk Benefit in Fall Creek Draws 75 Entrants
Group included kids and adults; event raised $1,000 last year

The July heat didn't stop people from lacing up their running shoes yesterday in Fall Creek.

They were in the second annual Lion's Pride 5k and 10k run-walk. The race was started to benefit Fall Creek First Responders. About 75 people of all ages participated in the race which started and ended at Keller Park.

"We have kids as little as probably seven in this,” Sheila Cote, the race director said. “We encourage families to come out and afterwards we'll just do prizes and Panera donated food. Festival Foods donated food."

Almost $1,000 was raised last year.
