People in Wisconsin are evenly divided when asked if the state constitution should be amended to ban civil unions, according to a poll from political news website www.wispolitics.com.

The question will be on the November 7 ballot. Researchers called 600 adults at random last month. Earlier polls produced a higher percentage in favor of the ban, and opponents say this shows a shifting public opinion. Supporters don't think it's a true reflection of Wisconsinites' attitude on the issue.
