A male deputy in northwest Wisconsin has been placed on administrative leave after being accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old man.
The 55-year-old works full-time at the Douglas County Courthouse. He's accused of assaulting the teen last week in Superior.
A bail hearing was held Thursday even though no criminal complaint had been filed yet. Court Commissioner Paul Baxter imposed a $2,000 signature bond, which the man signed to gain his release.
Since he works at the courthouse, the suspect has daily contact with members of the court system. Because of that the district attorney says he'll request that a special prosecutor take over the case, and Baxter says he expects to recuse himself as well.
