It happened near 530th Avenue west of Menomonie. Dunn County sheriffs deputies say he was going east just after 5 p.m. when he went off the road and hit a tree. Officers say the car separated into several pieces because of the severe impact. They consider high speed to be a factor and have not released the driver's name.
