Stolen Dreams, Stolen Dream Car: Man Still Waiting for Word on Dodge Charger

"There's a lot of memories with that vehicle," says Nick Suckow.

Memories are all that he has right now of his treasured Dodge Charger.

“That was probably the most beautiful car you've ever seen," says his friend David Williams.

Suckow was on his way home from Las Vegas on Tuesday, when his caretaker phoned with the terrible news: His prize-winning collector’s car was gone.

"I thought he was kidding, and then he said no, he's serious. My stomach just dropped," recalls Suckow.

No one is quite sure how the thieves got into the locked garage, but the glass was broken on one of the doors, and now the shards of broken glass lie where the car used to be.

Williams can't believe thieves were able to break through all the locks and make a clean break.

"Nobody comes in or out of this place without the neighbors knowing," says Williams.

Though Suckow had invested more than a quarter million dollars in the car, friends say it's the sentimental value that matters, because the car is what has kept him going, through the challenges of his disability.

"It makes all of us hurt just as bad I think well maybe well maybe not as bad as him, but it takes away his motivation and we need that in him," says Williams.

Now they are all waiting to hear word that it's been found.

"I don't want to accuse anybody or even attempt but please whoever took the car, please return it," says Williams.

"Hopefully we'll get it back in one piece," says Suckow.

The Barron County Sheriff's Department is currently following up on a few leads.

If you've seen the car, or have any information about the Dodge Charger, you are asked to give the Barron County Sheriff's Department a call at 715- 537-3106.
