Reports filed Thursday show incumbent Democratic Governor Doyle has a two-million dollar financial advantage over his Republican challenger.
Doyle had 5.1 million dollars in the bank as of the end of June compared with 3.1 million dollars for Congressman Mark Green of Green Bay.
While Doyle still maintains a financial lead, Green raised $60,000 more than Doyle over the first six months of this year.
Green got 1.68 million dollars compared with Doyle's 1.6 million dollars.
Green campaign manager Mark Graul says that shows that Green's message is catching on with Wisconsin voters.
But Doyle campaign spokeswoman Melanie Fonder characterized the governor's financial lead as substantial and says he's positioned exactly where he wants to be at this point in the campaign.
