80 mile-per-hour winds and hail came through and knocked out power and trees.
According to Jack Running, chief of the Township Fire Department, a majority of the calls they received were for grass fires and blocked roads. And they respond to storm emergencies immediately just as they would to other emergencies.
"Our dispatch center works in conjunction with the 911 center. They have back up power and has for years. I didn't even know the power went out because the back up generator starts and takes care of things,” said Chief Jack Running of the Township Fire Department.
Chief Running says when storms happen, the dispatch center does receive a high volume of calls and may delay response time slightly.
