There s nothing wrong at all with a 10 year old hunter, there is something wrong with an untrained 10 year old hunter. I also agree with Scott W. Anyone under 21 getting a license should take the course.
Did you know that Wisconsin is one of the few sates that actually has a minimum age to hunt? Also, very few of the hunting accidents that occur involve this younger age group. This new law in MN requires the adult or parent to be "at arms length" so it's not going to be a case where they are out in the woods alone. I do agree that they should be required to take a hunter's safety course though.
That is just dumb. A ten year old kid with a gun and no safety course is just asking for trouble.
While I do think it is fine for them to be hunting at 10, (I was at 7) I do think anyone under 21 should be required to take the course. Lets face it, parents of today suck at their jobs as parents, 30 years ago you parents taught you how to use AND respect a weapon, now most teach them how it works and that is it.
THAT is that dumbest things ever to do!!!!!!....is minnesota dumb.!!!!!!
Oh good, lets see how many children accidentally shoot something other then a deer his year. I would be fine with this but no saftey course required???? Glad I live in Wisconsin!
