Pure and simple, I feel the public should go to the school board and find out why all this happened. Was it a crime? Police involed? An why has the director not said anything else? No support for him. All hush hush and thats scary for this town.People make snap judgements to fit their own person. All people who comment or talk about this should go to the board to do the talking. The board is closed mindedit seems, Not talking about it maybe it will just go away, thats what the board wants. I might go to the next school board meeting and see what they have to say, Students of chi hi.--- speak your voices also. You have lost 2 directors over a short span of a few years.

I wish someone would just tell the truth to what Strizek did, It would make everything better.

Put yourself in his shoes - would you have wanted to step in to that position after "G"? People are still comparing the 2! Let's move on people and let Strizek do what he does best - teach and write music. Thank you for all you have done Mr. Strizek - I hope you find what you are looking for in a job. Coming here wasn't easy but hopefully the next person won't have to endure the criticizm and comparison you have had. Maybe now people will let "G" rest in peace.

It seems like so many people comment here without knowing the full story (including me from time to time). It seems like the history of this is: In 2007 he provided alcohol to underage people and got a slap on the wrist. Now, something else has occurred to cause him to be put on paid leave of absence. While on paid leave of absence he decided to resign (most likely to avoid the shame of being fired for whatever he was put on paid leave of absence for). There can be wild speculation and rumor on why he was put on paid leave of absence, but I think with his resignation we will never know. If the board had to fire him, it would have all become public knowledge. As for this being a "personal problem", I have never known personal problems to be enough to cause a teacher to get put on paid leave of absence. Notice it does not say he "chose" this, it says he was "put" there. There is much more to this story than what is appearing above...

Mr. Strizek is a fine musician and an excellent teacher who made some immature mistakes. As adults, can we say that we never have made mistakes? Unfortunately, you can't make mistakes as a teacher, which is some ways is pretty sad. Also, I am positive that Mr. Strizek is not a child molester and would never hurt a student. Don't make accusations without knowing the entire truth. I don't believe that anyone knows the truth except for Mr. Strizek himself. Please use your brains before commenting on something you know nothing about.

I think G would be so disappointed.

Chris: His punishment was to be denied tenure. Again, he was not found guilty of providing alcohol to students, but to adults who were not of legal drinking age. There is only rumor and conjecture concerning his resignation.

Unless and until more details emerge, it's pretty pointless to speculate and start the rumor mill turning. Why don't we just give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it's some personal problem? But I do agree with Disgusted! (if not the harsh and excessive tone)--I am surprised that this guy still had a teaching job a year after he was convicted of providing booze to underage kids. Did the school discipline or suspend him at all for that?

Disgusted!- "This just proves that he will continue to have a negative impact on the music program and should not be working with children" Could you enlightened us with your "wisdom" and please tell us what it is he did this time? I believe the story says that it was unclear why he was leaving. The original crime he committed in 2007 was providing alcohol to underage adults, they were 18 and 19, not as though they were 15, it's still wrong, but it doesn't make him a disgusting person. Also, they stated "We have no information to lead us to believe they're presently students at the high school or students of Mr. Strizek" So, they are legally adults, not in high school, just under the drinking age, big whoop. By doing some simple research, you can find the story on that located http://www.weau.com/home/headlines/5065946.html " I hope that the school board makes the right decision - to get rid of him and find a teacher that will help the program and the students in a positive way." He resigned! They can't get rid of something they don't have. Really, let's start using our heads before leaving a post, or at the very least read the story and then give an opinion. And let me ask, what ever happen to innocent until proven guilty? We don't even know why he left and people are already finding him guilty and saying horrible things about him, seems to be very childish to me.

Anyone know what "the issue" is this time?

Don't judge until all the facts are in. Mr. Stizek is a talented and gifted teacher. He came in at a terrible time. He stepped up to the plate and did his job. Thanks Mr. Strizek.

Andrei Strizek completely disgusts me. I can not believe that he was not fired after the first incident. This just proves that he will continue to have a negative impact on the music program and should not be working with children. I hope that the school board makes the right decision - to get rid of him and find a teacher that will help the program and the students in a positive way.

very nicely stated, Ken in Gilman!

I don't know what is going on here and I don't want to know. However, I wish this guy would stop doing things to shed negative attention onto a program which is still healing and needs the support of the community very much.
