The first Wisconsin Sonic Drive-In will open its doors in Eau Claire Wednesday morning.

Employees celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday morning, and got a chance to get ready for opening day by serving family and friends.

The new Sonic Restaurant is located on Hendrickson Drive, next door to the Arby’s. Owner Dan Flanagan says the new restaurant brings about one hundred jobs to the area. The restaurant will open to the public Wednesday morning at 6:00 a.m.

it seems that for everyone new restaurant that opens another closes. and some of those closing haven't been opened all that long.

Now it seems less ridiculous that the television plays so many advertisements for this restaurant since there is one that actually exists within the viewing area. If they serve pizza I will probably go there. I've always thought someone should have a drive-in restaurant that serves either pizza or else chinese food - that would be fantastic!

I am very happy that a Sonic has come to Wisconsin and In Eau Claire. June was the last time I was able to enjoy Sonic and I will enjoy this week thank you Sonic corp.

This place is great! They have great burgers and some really different specialty drinks. Not too expensive either. I have been excited about this since I first heard.

Oh, by the way, it's poeple themselves that make them fat, not the restaurant. We have some great health/fitness resources in EC.

Try to be a little more positive. It brings more jobs to the area. It frustrates me that people can be nothing but negative. Sad.

Not only do we need good solid industries... the last thing we really need is another fast food restaurant... More than half of Wisconsinites are obese...
