Officers are trying to find a man they say robbed a hotel early Friday morning.

Sparta Police say they responded to the Country Inn and Suites on Avon Road just after 5 a.m.

Officers say the suspect didn't show a weapon, but that he implied that he had a gun under his clothes.

He ran off with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30's, wearing a blue flannel shirt, dark colored pants, and a stocking cap.

Call the Sparta Police or Crimestoppers if you have information.

That is not far from the La Crosse/Winona area. I wonder if this is the same guy who was involved in a stabbing in Winona or that robbery in La Crosse.
