It appears an electrical problem is to blame for the fire that destroyed a building at a Jackson County business Thursday night.
"The insurance company, fire investigator from the insurance company for them was here this morning and just took a lot of pictures and still figured that it was some sort of electrical problem,” says Alma Center Fire Chief Jeff Gaede.
The fire happened at Chippewa Bi Products and Countryside Hides, just outside of Alma Center.
Gaede says eight different departments helped battle the blaze for about seven hours.
Xcel Energy had to cut power to Alma Center for about a half an hour.
The chief says Chippewa Bi Products makes alligator food and dog food. He says there were some carcasses and grinders in the building.
Gaede says the building is a total loss. He says there's still no official damage estimate.
