Some middle school students have shorter hair, after they donated it to a good cause.
Ten students and two teachers at the Elk Mound Middle School started growing out their hair last spring to donate to Locks of Love.
Special Education teacher Meg Marmitt says she heard about students donating in the past, and thought it would be a great opportunity to get the whole school involved.
The students chopped off around ten inches or more of their hair for the non-profit organization.
One student says she feels good she can help out.
"It gives me a lot of pride to know that I'm giving someone something that I have, that I can grow back, that they'll never grow back again,” says Elk Mound Student Eileen Vasey
Locks of Love makes hair-pieces for any child, under the age of 18, for any kind of hair-loss.
