While many men were off to hunt this weekend, many of their wives went to town for a bit of time to themselves.
Downtown Eau Claire offered many different activities for the women to enjoy, including the Holidaze craft fair at the Ramada Inn.
The fair offered plenty of holiday themed knick knacks, as well as pampering for women.
Mary Wright, a long time deer widow says it's a great chance for the girls to get together. She says, "I think it's a good time for women to get together and bond and do things they normally wouldn't do all year long, as far as shopping and sharing ideas with crafts and different things."
Wright says she came down from Hayward to visit with a group of ten women, who all say they look forward to their hunting season tradition as much as the men.
