The Chippewa Falls Fire and Emergency Services Department is getting some new equipment thanks to a federal grant.

The Chippewa Falls Fire and Emergency Services Department is getting some new equipment thanks to a federal grant.
The department will receive more than $102,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. It plans on using the money to buy 25 new self contained breathing units and spare air cylinders for fire fighters.
The grant is part of the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Program which gave $48.5 million in grants to 557 fire departments in the country this year.
Chippewa Falls was one of 25 Wisconsin departments to receive grants.
Also on the list, the Spooner Fire District, which got more than $60,000.
