We now know more about the minutes leading up to Alisha Sidie's death and what Doug Sidie says the two were arguing about before she was shot.

A special agent with the Wisconsin Department of Justice says Doug Sidie told investigators he and Alisha were fighting about their twin two-year-olds and also about Doug’s eight-year-old son from a previous relationship. Doug Sidie told investigators Alisha wanted his eight-year-old dead.

The 39-year-old Hatfield man is charged with shooting Alisha and hiding her body earlier this month.

Doug Sidie never looked up as he sat in a Jackson County courtroom accused of murder. But tears fell as his defense attorney questioned an investigator about the argument moments before his ex-wife's death.

"Did Mr. Sidie advise you that his former wife, the deceased, had threatened to take out his eight-year-old in this discussion that night right before the shooting?" Defense Attorney John Brinckman asked Special Agent John Christophersen.

"Yes, sir," Christophersen answered.

Christophersen also testified that Doug Sidie said Alisha wanted his eight-year-old dead or gone and that she told him he would never see the twins again.

While Alisha's family and friends will never hear her side of the story, hearing Doug's was hard to take. Tears streamed down her mother’s face.

Alisha's family did not want to go on camera, but say they are relieved the judge denied Doug Sidie bail.

"I am satisfied we've done what we need to do up to this point. We've shown the court there is substantial evidence behind the charges," says Jackson County District Attorney Gerald Fox.

Fox says he is fully prepared to take the case to trial, something Sidie's lawyer John Brinckman says will likely happen.

“I do not believe based on what I have seen so far that we're talking about a first degree murder here,” Brinckman told WEAU 13 News. “There is so much more to what happened in the unfortunate events."

Doug Sidie will remain in jail without bond for at least the next 60 days.

Sidie will be back in court as soon as a new judge is appointed to take over the case. Judge Thomas Lister is taking himself off the case because he represented Doug Sidie in a civil lawsuit that was dismissed in 2003.

Sidie’s attorney says they will enter a not guilty plea.

39-year-old Doug Sidie faces 11 charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, in the death of 27-year-old Alisha Sidie, the mother of the couple's two-year-old twin boys.

Sidie originally told authorities Alisha left their home following an argument. After a week-long search by hundreds of volunteers and law enforcement officers, Jackson County Sheriff's deputies say Sidie confessed to shooting his ex-wife and hiding her body.
