There must have been a reason for Alisha to threaten (IF SHE DID) to take them boys away from Doug. It is now pretty obvious with the actions he chose what that reason might have been, violence. As for her threatening his son. I do not believe that for a minute. Bottom line, he had no right to take her life. God will be Dougs final judge in the end. I wish the best for the children/families in this tragic event.
Can anyone here honestly say this guy has any defense whatsoever? GIVE ME A BREAK! Unfortunately since Doug made sure he was the only survivor of this domestic-murder, he can say whatever he wants. Quite pathetic that there are comments here defending him by saying "none of you were there" etc. Now Doug wants to place the blame on Alisha for causing him to kill her, because she supposedly wanted his son dead. You honestly believe that? I sure hope your ignorant self isn't on the jury when it comes time to convict!!!
I THINK DOUG IS TRYING TO LESSEN HIS SENTENCE ANY WAY HE CAN. WHAT HE DID IS WRONG PLAIN AND SIMPLE. HE NEEDS TO PAY, HE IS JUST A CHRONIC LIER. YOU CAN'T BELIEVE A WORD HE SAYS, TO GO OUT AND SEARCH FOR HER WHEN HE KNEW ALL ALONG WHERE SHE WAS, WHY DIDN'T HE SAY SOMETHING ABOUT IT THEN IF SHE WAS TRYING TO KILL HIS 8 YR OLD. HE KNOWS THE SYSTEM AND IS PLAYING HIS GAME. I HOPE AND PRAY THE SYSTEM PUTS HIM AWAY FOR A LONG LONG TIME. JUSTICE FOR ALISHA
Um... Hang on here, none of you were there so none of you know what was or wasnt said or what even happened, and as far as im concerend im sure that he relives that moment everyday and he probably always will so who are we to judge him and say that he was an awful sick man who knows but we need to just settle down and comtine to pray for the kids, Doug and just everything thats going on because everything is in gods hands.
My guess is whoever was in the house isn't going to be charged as long as they testify. Also, I know about the only thing that would drive me to violence is danger to my family, but nothing that was said justifies what he did. A lot more will come out, true and not true, but when all is said and done, he's the one that committed the crime. We live in a Country that protects your freedom of speech.

I cant believe that he would pull this card now. Was the 8 yr old in any danger at that precise moment? There is no mention of him being there. How could he think he can actually say the he was protecting him?? Alisha knew that he had a child before she married him! Why would there be any reason for her to hurt that child??? What a crock!
I dont think aleshia would EVER say a thing like that she loves kids i know because she always was babysitting me and she loved to babysit she would never say she is going to kill a kid Come on now. Doug is just try to find an excuse for his actions which there is no excuse for killing someone! RIP Alisha! Love you!
If my child was threatened...think about it...would it make you go over the edge? (If that is the truth). I do not justify what he did...there were other ways.
I dont know anyone involved therefore I cant say it is out of place that she said or did not say. Regardless of what was "said" it does not justify what he did. What is crazy about this whole entire thing is the person in the house? what is going to happen to him? how come he is not being charged? How about an accessory charge here dangit! guess we wait and see what happens!
I guess a lot of you do not read the papers or you would know that it is not impossible for a mother, let alone a step mother, to murder children. He needs to pay for his crime but was it premeditated or a spur of the moment
This is going to be a very long and hard battle for her family especially if he is trying to play this card against her! Even if she had threatened to take the twins that is no reason to murder someone!!!! I feel so bad for her family, this is going to get even uglier!
Just trying to set up the "temporary insanity" plea. Sick man. I'm sure a mother of two would actually say she wished an 8 year old dead. Come on. Let's be realistic.

Many people are disturbed over these occurrences, but we all know that no one knows what happens in anybody's life, until you walk a mile in their shoes. This story is sad and awful on so many levels.
