Three people are facing attempted homicide charges in what Portage County authorities say was a murder-for-hire scheme.
A prosecutor says all three had a role in the shooting of James Glodowski. He was shot several times, including once in the face, at a Stevens Point park Nov. 18.
Investigators say Carla Glodowski offered $4,000 to Linda Dietze of Plover to kill her husband.
District Attorney Tom Eagon says Carla Glodowski "believed she was in a relationship" with Carlos Cummings of Stevens Point and told him she could not get a divorce and needed to get rid of her husband. Eagon says Cummings drove Dietze to the park where the man was shot.
Carla Glodowski, Dietze and Cummings were charged Tuesday with party to attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
