GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- An offer of $8 an hour drew about 300 people to clear snow from the stands at Lambeau Field in preparation for the Green Bay Packers' game with Houston on Sunday.
Fifty-one-year-old Mike Miller of Green Bay says he's been unemployed for a while and welcomed the chance at some day labor yesterday, with the bonus of seeing the inside of Lambeau Field.
Fifty-year-old Greg Hiebing of Appleton wore his Packers jacket, hat and gloves. He says he's answered every Packers shoveling call since 1995.
The shovelers toss snow onto aluminum slides that send it to the field to be hauled away. The two slides are moved from section to section until the job is done.
It takes about four hours to clear the stadium's 66,344 outdoor seats.
