Teen Steals Quarter of a Million Dollars from Grandfather
A Minnesota teen is accused of stealing a quarter-million dollars from his Wisconsin grandfather, and going on a lavish two-day shopping spree with a buddy.

if someone had that much money in a safe, well was it closed, did they let out the combination, or did they take the whole safe. gosh lots of money to have at home.
what is a fortune compared to family? if they send their own grandchild to prison and ruin his life completely over this, i see their (spiritual) crime as worse than his. what is wealth compared to a child? this is a family matter and should be dealt with by the family and perhaps through civil court when it comes to the money they had already spent, like on vehicles. it's a shame this kid is treated like a criminal with his face on the news for all of us to see. all of that wealth, and these grandparents could not find a way to use it to inspire their own flesh and blood and teach him better judgement through gifts and charity. people make mistakes, and the dollar amount does matter in affairs of strangers, especially so large, but it should not somehow be a worse crime than any other dumb kid who steals from their parents. this kid obviously realized he would be caught. no one will listen to his cry for help, they will villify him and condem his entire life at the age of 18
Bet the grandparents never reported any of that money they took out of their business and had hidden at home to the goverment.
Wow-- NO respect! Thats just terrible. Hope the Grandparents get restitution-- too many times the court system see to it they get their share but the victim never does! How did they EVER think no one would notice-- can we say duh?
