NBI Announces Layoffs
The managing director at the National Business Institute in Altoona tells us he laid off 25 workers Monday.

Another area company announces layoffs.
The managing director at the National Business Institute in Altoona tells us he laid off 25 workers Monday.
The company had to let nine people go last month. NBI has been in business since 1983, putting on educational seminars for legal professionals.
Jim Embke says the economy is the reason for the layoffs. He says recently they've had fewer people going to the seminars. The layoffs were effective immediately.
Eighty-five people now work at NBI. Embke says he doesn't anticipate any more layoffs, and hopes to rehire people if business improves.
