About 22 UW-Eau Claire students will miss the spring semester, because they're heading to a war zone.
Many of the students are part of the nearly 3,500 troops from the 32nd Infantry Brigade headed to Iraq. Marc Goulet, the Interim Associate Dean of Students at UW-Eau Claire, says the university will work with those students so they can continue their education when they return.
Goulet says when the students are on a military leave, they will still be able to use their campus e-mail and keep their passwords so they can access the university's site.
They'll also be able to keep in touch with their professors and fellow students and be updated on important dates and reminders. Goulet says keeping these contacts will help the students when they transition back to campus and civilian life.
