It's my understanding this study was done before a new stun fence was put in and that there are plans to begin completely revamping the security system in April at the Stanley prison.

OK, these are prisoners, why do they need beds? there is plenty of floor space. I have an Idea, go find a homeless person and ask them what they think of the state of our prison system. I think we need to take out he TV, Weight Rooms, and just give them a library to keep them occupied, after all, They broke the law and shouldn't be coddled. I also think they should turn down the heat, and remove coffee from the menu. Prison should not ever be a pleasant experience!!

Isn't that interesting, since the state just bought that prison in 2002, from a private firm that had just built it. When the state bought it thaty had to put all kinds of money into it to bring it up to saftey standards. In fact the perimter fence and cameras and if your remember a complete plumbing system becuase the company from okla. didn't have any heat on in the Wisconsin winters until it was sold to the state. New Lisbon was just built in 2002 and opened in 2004. Redgranite was opened in 2001 that's 3 new prisons in the last 8 years. Yes the older ones are in bad shape but so are the new ones because of poor planing on the states part and poor construction. The suits in Madison who design and think of how to build a prison I don't think have ever be to one to see how they operate.

You have got to be kidding me? That Stanley prison is only a few years old! You're telling me it already has problems?? Is there no one on top of this stuff, who was in charge of all the planning of the building project a few years ago? We just love to keep throwing our money away without accountability! The solution always seems to be a new tax, or increase. I know....why not submit this cost to the government as part of the wonderful state projects to jump start the economy. Super!
