Eau Claire could soon be home to Gaylord Nelson Boulevard. City Council Member, Dave Duax, is proposing changing the name of State Highway 93 in the city limits, to honor the former Governor and Senator from Polk County. Nelson was known for his environmental work, and founding Earth Day.
Duax says Highway 93 is the only main road in Eau Claire without a name. The idea is being introduced at Monday night's City Council meeting. Duax says the city is looking into whether people or businesses would have to change their address, or if they could still use Highway 93. Duax says if it passes, the city would dedicate it on Earth Day in April.
