Disposing of Analog TV's
A state agency is worried about the environmental impact of televisions that get dumped.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Department of Natural Resources expects many TV owners will simply dump their old analog sets when the broadcast signal switches to digital in about six weeks.
The DNR is concerned those old televisions could be illegally dumped and wind up in a landfill where they pose an environmental risk.
Dan Fields is a policy analyst for the DNR's recycling program. He's helped put together a guide on the DNR's Web site that provides information on where to dispose of the TVs.
Fields says the state is trying to work with local communities to set up more drop off sites for old sets.
